Daniel Webster was a New Hampshire congressman, U. S. senator from Massachusetts, U. S. Secretary of State, and renowned orator. The two-room, frame house on this Franklin site is a replica of the Webster home at the time of Daniel's birth and is built upon the cellar hole of the original house. It is a state historic park today.
