The construction of the Mount Washington Hotel in 1902-03 was the climax of the era of the White Mountain "Grand Hotels." Located in Bretton Woods, near the base of Mount Washington, the hotel has 194 guest rooms, is seven stories in height, and is a National Historic Landmark. It was home to the 1944 Bretton Woods Conference, which led to the formation of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
