A native of Keene, New Hampshire, Barry Faulkner (1881-1966) was educated at Exeter and Harvard. He studied art with Abbot Thayer and George de Forest Brush at the Dublin Art Colony in New Hampshire. In 1906 Faulkner went on to study at the American Academy in Rome for three years. For fifty years he painted inspiring and dramatic murals in buildings in New York, Washington, Rochester, Hartford, Andover, and Concord, before returning to retirement in Keene.
