Tuck Library

Map Collection

The Society preserves and shares a comprehensive collection of about 1,200 maps depicting all areas of New Hampshire. The collection contains regional maps of New England and New Hampshire town, county, and state maps. The collection also includes highly detailed Sanborn Fire Insurance maps which show every structure in the central portion of cities and towns throughout the state.

Some of the most important maps in the collection are the 1761 map of New Hampshire by Blanchard and Langdon; the 1784 state map by Samuel Holland; and the 1816 state map by Philip Carrigain.
