Tuck Library

Special Collections

The Shaker Church, Canterbury, NH, built in 1792.
The Society's special collections department preserves and shares thousands of unique and marvelous resources documenting the history of New Hampshire. Here you can find over 3,000 manuscript collections, 200,000 images, 1,000 maps, and thousands of items of printed ephemera.

Special collections materials are accessible to researchers Tuesday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you are planning to do extensive research in the special collections, we encourage you to let us know by contacting Librarian Bill Copeley at bcopeley@nhhistory.org or 603/856-0641. This will enable us to prepare materials in advance of your visit, making the most of the time you spend at the Society.
