Volunteers

New Hampshire Historical Society Volunteers Volunteers have fun greeting visitors and serving (and eating!) ice cream during an exhibition opening reception at the Society's museum.

Help Save, Preserve, and Share New Hampshire History

The New Hampshire Historical Society is the premier organization saving, preserving, and sharing Granite State history. Our museum and library offer the most extensive collection of resources and materials related to New Hampshire history that can be found anywhere.

Volunteers vastly expand the potential of the Society's staff, enhancing the work of every department. Volunteer contributions of time and talent allow the Society to accomplish goals far beyond what would be possible with paid staff alone.

Whether you have a few hours a month or lots of time, the New Hampshire Historical Society offers you the opportunity to explore and share your interests and skills.

The Society is currently recruiting for volunteers in the Membership office at 30 Park St. If you have a few hours a week to help an organization that you love, the Society is looking for a few volunteers to perform light office duties, such as assembling new member packets, collating mailings, and photocopying. We also would be grateful for help with data entry, front desk reception and phone coverage for lunch breaks.  We are looking for a commitment of three hours per week from each volunteer. Interested people will be asked to complete an application, meet with staff, and agree to a criminal background check. Interested individuals are encouraged to complete and mail the volunteer application.

The Society is also recruiting for volunteer gallery guides. Learn more.
