Scope and Content: Photographic print of the military funeral in Concord, NH, of Lieutenant Charles W. Walker, who was killed on June 22, 1861 by falling from a train while passing through New Jersey on his way to Washington, DC. The caption states, "Military Funeral Lieutenant Charles W. Walker June 29, 1861 of Second New Hampshire Regiment Company B a Concord Organization Called 'Goodwin Rifles' Named for Governor Ichabod Goodwin. NEW HAMPSHIRE'S FIRST WAR VICTIM." The military funeral actually occurred on June 26, 1861. George Perry misdated the funeral in his caption.
