Papers include mainly letters (1797-1801) to Freeman during his service in Congress, concerning Dartmouth and the lotteries, political news from New Hampshire and comments on national affairs; the quarrel with France, the Army, and the election of 1800; together with commissions and correspondence of Freeman's son, Asa Freeman (1788-1867), lawyer of Dover, N.H., correspondence of his grandson Francis Atkinson Freeman (1822-1884) chiefly while a student at Dartmouth, wills of Theodore Atkinson (1697-1779) and of George and Susanna Atkinson, a few letteres to William King Atkinson (1765-1820), Dover lawyer and judge, an act to change his name from William King to Atkinson (1788), deeds to land in Dover, and estate inventory (1820).
