Scope and Content: The First Baptist Church of Brentwood, NH Records includes eight bound volumes dated 1771 to 1974. Seven volumes are records of the First Baptist Church and one volume is the Young People's Society of Christian Endeavor for the years 1908 to 1917. Generally, the church clerk maintained the records. The first volume dates from 1771 to 1808 and includes baptism lists, meeting minutes, church votes, and some accounts. Volume two dates from 1822 to 1861and contains member lists, meeting minutes, church votes, and "A Summary Declaration of the Faith and Practice of the First Baptist Church in Boston, adopted by other churches." Volume three of church records dates from 1833 to 1922 and includes a records of the building of horse sheds, a record of the Constitution, membership lists, meeting proceedings, warrants for meetings, and some church finances. The fourth volume of church records dates from 1861 to 1937. It consists of lists of church members, meeting minutes, pastor's reports, and a church activities calendar. The fifth volume of church records dates from 1937 to 1951. This volume includes membership lists, pastor's reports, treasurer's reports, meeting minutes, and church budgets. Volume six of church records dates from 1951 to 1959 and includes meeting minutes, treasurer's reports, pastor's reports, programs, newspaper clippings, budgets, and other church committee reports. The seventh volume of church records dates from 1959 to 1974 and contains meeting minutes, treasurer's reports, pastor's reports, programs, newspaper clippings, budgets, and other church committee reports. Many of the documents are attached to the book with glue, tape, or a stapler. The Young People's Society of Christian Endeavor includes member lists, meeting dates and results, and officer lists.
