Description: Marking sampler. Made by Fanny Morgan, no date. Silk embroidered on linen; unfinished, with two alphabets: first, fancy block capitals in cross stitch, followed by what looks like "FAHHYMORGAH," but is actually FANNY MORGAN, judging by the alphabet in which her N's are worked like H's; second, script capitals A through Q in cross stitch. Plain lines of cross stitch separate lines of alphabets. Colors are cream, brown, dark blue, pale brick red, and black. All four edges of the linen ground are hemstitched.
