Description: Needle holder with embroidered American flag, presented by ladies of Troy, NH, to Major Centre H. Lawrence, 2nd NH Regiment, when he left Troy to fight in the Civil War. Flag of embroidered red, white, and blue wool. 13 stars and 13 stripes. White stripes have many losses. Large loss in blue field. Flag backed with white floral-embroidered silk. Two wool pieces inside, with pinked edges: one red, one beige. Back is dark blue silk with woven black square pattern and red floral embroidery. Red, white, and blue silk ribbons at two corners.
