Scope and Content: Papers of Jeremiah Bachelder of Kensington, NH, dated between 1686 and 1894. Bachelder served with the New Hampshire militia during the Revolutionary War, and these papers were found in his wallet. The collection includes an account book cover and back cover labeled "Jere. Bachelder / Book 1776- / Kensington." Inside the book cover were some loose pages of accounts dated 1815 to 1816. There is a second volume in the collection with "Kensington / Regimental Act / Begun April 1793." written on the cover. There are some regimental orders inside the volume. There are some loose materials that were found in the volume dated later (1877-1879) as well as a newspaper clipping from the Boston Globe on the death of John W. Dole in Somerville, MA. There are also two deeds in the collection, on from Josiah Barton to Stephen Brown dated 1797 and the other from Thomas Green to Tristram Coffin dated 1707. Also found in the papers is a fragment from the last will and testament of Jeremiah Bachelder dated 1808.
