Mustered! Foot Soldiers of the 12th
In September 1862 a thousand newly mustered foot soldiers bearing the colors of the 12th New Hampshire marched to the train depot for the seat of the war. Nearly three years later, less than one hundred of the original thousand returned, following battle torn colors stained in blood. MUSTERED! chronicles the historic human odyssey they shared. Sources the author used in writing MUSTERED! include diaries, letters, accounts, and anecdotes written by Captain Richard W. Musgrove and his comrades in the 12th New Hampshire, and the History of the Twelfth Regiment, War of the Rebellion, published in 1897 by Captain Asa Bartlett, another foot soldier in the 12th.
