Description: Creamer pitcher, one of a pitcher and sugar set (1984.27.6.1-.2). Silver. Vase-shaped body with loop handle, narrow spout and four feet. Pebbly surface texture. Engraved decoration on body has wreath of flowers and leaves with bow at base. Engraved inside on wreath is black letter "C" on right side. Handle is cast with a woman's head as thumbrest. Feet are cast with bearded male heads on each foot. Stamped on bottom scale within a shield surrounded with the words in uppercase letters "MERIDEN / B COMPANY" with a star in between the "B" & the "C". Above the mark is the text, double struck, in uppercase letters: "PAT D OCT.22D 1872" with both "Ds" raised. Below the mark is stamped "1887".
