Description: Butter Knife. Made by Rogers Brothers, Hartford, CT; c. 1900. Silver-plated metal. Double-swell fiddle handle, with upturned round end, and short mid-rib on front. Blade, which is smooth on the bottom edge and shaped/scalloped on the top edge, is twisted 90 degrees with respect to the handle. Stamped on right side of blade in incuse sans-serif letters and numbers, "1847 ROGERS BROS", and in a larger size, "A 1", with a circle next to it.
