Description: Bowl, part of a set including cold water pitcher, tray, and goblet (1972.55.1-.4). Silver plate. Straight sided bowl with a plain base ring. Decorative cast band around bowl in floral scroll design. Possible gold wash on interior. Maker's mark stamped on bottom is a pair of scales within a shield-shaped mark surrounded with a circle and the words in upper case letters; "MERIDEN / B.CO." Stamped below the maker's mark is the number "36"

Provenance: The donor, Alexis Chapman Proctor (1895-1979), made several donations of Proctor family household furnishings through the 1960s and 1970s; the family resided in Franklin, N.H. However, no provenance was provided with this object.
Mr. Richard Wiggins brought in the set for the donor, Alexis Chapman Proctor.
