Description: Helmet and liner, U.S. Army, worn by Col. Russell J. Grady, 197th Coast Artillery, NH National Guard, after Korean War. Covered with camouflage fabric. Outer metal helmet, olive drab, with black colonel's insignia, adjustable cotton chin strap with metal buckle and fasteners. Plastic liner, molded, with fabric core, (? fiberglass), olive drab exterior, camouflage interior, adjustable cotton and leather headband, attached with rivets. Outer helmet and liner both stamped with product info. Liner stamped (in part): "LINER, GROUND TROOP'S HELMET / (COMBAT) TYPE I / 76 APRIL 30" DSA100-76-c-1352". Band stamped "HEADBAND LINER HELMET / DSA-100-76-c-1401 / 8470-00-158-6671 / STEINBERG BROS." Adjustable cotton backband, also stamped but not legible.

Delivered by Frederick Wood, along with a field coat worn by Mr. Wood as member of 197th regiment (19987.70), large collection of material used by Mr. Wood in 197th regiment.
