Description: Engraving. Portrait of Gen. Henry Seymour Conway (1721-1795). Steel engraving, printed on paper. Bust-length portrait of middle-aged man facing left, white hair (? wig), clean shaven, dark uniform with turned over collar of different color, six buttons on coat, seven button holes with decorative edges, button holes on collar around neck, one epaulet on left side, stock and cravat. and associated holes. Portrait in circular frame inside rectangular frame. Circular frame resting on plinth. At top of frame is ribbon, bow, and two swags with double tassel ends attached at upper left and upper right corners of frame. At bottom edge of frame is a slightly elevated base to plinth with lettering "Rt. Hon. GENERAL CONWAY." At very top of page in title text "EUROPEAN (on left) and MAGAZINE. (on right). in italics. At very bottom outside edge of frame but directly under frame "Published April 1, 1782, by J. Fielding, Pater-noster Row, J. Sewell Cornhill & J. Debrett, Piccadilly". Lower left corner "Stotharg del." "Langus Sculp." On back in pencil near center "S / 142 (6 - 398)".
