He is seated in a chair with a table on his left side with a quill and books with a dark background. "Engraved by A.H.Ritchie from a beautiful Daguerreotype by Brady of N.Y.", "Millard Fillmore" facsimiles of signature printed beneath the portrait. Below this is printed "Published by E. Anthony 205 Broadway, N.Y.", "Entered according to Act of Congress in the year 1848, by Edward Anthony in the Clerks Office of the / District Court of the United States for the Southern District of New York".
