Description: Sugar Bowl. Manufactured by Rogers, Smith & Company, New Haven, CT, 1865. Silver-plated white metal. Open urn-shaped body with tapered, convex banded, stepped foot. Tapered, concave banded, stepped neck. Greek key and beaded bands around top of body. Beaded bands around base of body, bottom of foot, and neck. Two scrolled, reticulated handles. Obverse, engraved in Gothic script: "J". Stamped on bottom: "ROGERS SMITH & Co. / NEW HAVEN CONN. / 1959". Part of eight-piece silver-plated teaset presented to Mrs. Caroline E. Johnson by the First Baptist Society, Concord, NH, 1865.
