Description: Waste Bowl. Manufactured by Rogers, Smith & Company, New Haven, CT, 1865. Silver-plated white metal. Open ovoid body with tapered, convex banded, stepped foot. Angled Greek key and beaded bands around top edge of body. Beaded bands around base of body and bottom of foot. Obverse, engraved in Gothic script: "J". Stamped on bottom: "ROGERS SMITH & Co. / NEW HAVEN CONN. / 1959". Part of eight-piece silver-plated teaset presented to Mrs. Caroline E. Johnson by the First Baptist Society, Concord, NH, 1865.
