Abstract: The Lane Family Papers, 1727-1924, contains the papers of various members of the Lane Family from the eighteenth, nineteenth, and twentieth centuries. Materials in the papers include diaries and journals, ledgers, accounts, correspondence, legal papers, and other personal papers belonging to members of the Lane family.
Scope and Content: The Lane Family Papers, 1727-1924, contains the papers of various members of the Lane Family from the eighteenth, nineteenth, and twentieth centuries. The collection is divided into two series: Series I. Lane Family Papers, 1727-1861 and Series II. Lane Family Papers, 1737-1924. The first series consists mostly of early family business and legal documents made through the mid-nineteenth century including ledgers, account books, daybooks for stores, copybooks, and records of deaths. Series II. Lane Family Papers, 1837-1924 consists of the papers donated by Priscilla Lane Moore Tapley in 1988 and 1991. The second series contains genealogical manuscripts, diaries and journals, legal documents, correspondence, and personal papers of the Lane family from the eighteenth century through the twentieth century.
Arrangment: This collection is arranged in two series: Series I. Lane Family Papers, 1727-1861 and Series II. Lane Family Papers, 1737-1924.
