Description: Banner. Front is purple cloth with lettering in silver paint with black and white borders: "WILLIAM B. DURGIN CO. / DESIGNER & MAKER / OF WARES IN / STERLING SILVER / CONCORD, N.H." Purple painted oval, 15" high, in center with large script "D" in silver paint, and words "TRADE MARK". White cloth border with fringe, three tassels, and long ties on bottom edge. Reverse is white cloth (stained) with purple painted letters, "WILLIAM B. DURGIN CO. / Designer & Maker / Of Wares in / STERLING SILVER / Concord, N.H." Probably made for a trade fair or exposition. Oval with script "D" and words "Trade Mark", all in purple paint on the reverse.
Banner. Two sided. Machine stitched. Front is purple cotton twill weave with painted lettering in silver with black and white borders: "WILLIAM B. DURGIN CO. / DESIGNER & MAKER / OF WARES IN / STERLING SILVER / CONCORD, N.H." Purple painted oval, 15" high, in center with large script "D" in silver paint, and words "TRADE MARK". White 0.75" twill tape cotton border with 2.50 applied cotton fringe, three 7" (1.50 diameter) cotton tassels, and two 24" length bundled 0.25" cotton twill tape ties one on each side, of bottom edge. Reverse is ecru cotton twill weave with purple painted letters, "WILLIAM B. DURGIN CO. / Designer & Maker / Of Wares in / STERLING SILVER / Concord, N.H." Probably made for a trade fair or exposition. Oval with script "D" and words "Trade Mark", all in purple paint on the reverse. Brass rod 45" length x 2.50" diameter with two ( one on each side) 36" lengths of over hanging two ply 0.25" cotton cord, with a 5.25" x 1.25" cotton wrapped tassel (wooded core) at the end of each length. Rod fed through four 0.75" white twill tape ties.
