Scope and Content: Undated photographic print of the Stratton & Company flour and corn mill in Penacook, NH. The image shows to unidentified men, oxen, and railroad cars outside of the mill. The caption states, "Stratton & Company, Flour and Corn Mills. This flour mill at the lower end of Commercial street, was built in 1857 by John H. Pearson & Company of Concord. The ownership of this mill changed several times first to Barron, Dodge & Company, then to Whitcher & STratton, next to Stratton, Merrill & Company, and lastly to Stratton & Company, the quality of the product has always been kept up to the highest standard, and this mill is to-day (1902) the largest and best flour mill in New England. The office and sales rooms of the firm are at Concord. The daily production of this mill is three hundred barrels of flour and five hundred bushels of corn meal, which is marketed in New England."
