Description: Engraving, hand-colored. "Chocorua Peak", engraved by William Wellstood (1819-1900) after a painting by William Hart (1823-1894), 1861. Ink and watercolor on paper. Cattle grazing in middle ground at the river; house with red roof and smoke billowing from chimney in right background. Woods and Mount Chocorua in background. Inscription in margin: "Entered accord to Act of Congress in the Year 1861. by Poe & Hitchcock in the Clerks office in the Southern district of Ohio / CHOCORUA PEAK. / (WHITE MOUNTAINS) / Engraved by W. Wellstood from the Original Painting by W. Hart in the possession of the Artist." Pencil inscription upper right: "NH / 750". Unframed.
