Includes material on the China-Boxer Indemnity Fund, cotton courts in Mississippi, Dakota politics (1880-1884), Harvard Law School, Litigation over the estate of Mary Baker Eddy (1906-1916), the Philippines, Cuba, prosecution of Civil War claims in England, and the Washington Central Market; and in New Hampshire, the Concord Post Office, the fight against railroad consolidation and political domination, the management of Chandler's newspaper the "Statesman and Concord Monitor" Republican Party politics in NH 1864-1917, the Portsmouth Navy Yard, Progressive Movement, tariff and temperance.
