Scope and Content: The Althea C. Boxell Photograph Collection consists of photographs of covered bridges in New Hampshire, taken between approximately the early 1960s and 1990. This estimation is derived from dates on some of the photographs, though the majority of the photographs are undated. Many bridges are represented by numerous photographs showing differing views. The bridges are not limited to functional road bridges, but also include bridges over creeks, etc., on private land. Ornamental bridges, such as garden ornaments are included. It is not known if the photographs were taken by Boxell or collected by Boxell.
