Scope and Content: The James Willis Patterson correspondence consists of one letter written to Amos J. Blake by Senator Patterson in 1872 and general printed letter from the New Hampshire Office of the Republican State Committee. In his personal letter to Blake dated April 8, 1872, Patterson discusses his support of the re-nomination of President Ulysses S. Grant. The general letter from the New Hampshire Office of the Republican State Committee is dated February 1, 1871 and discusses the votes of the previous year and encourages people to vote Republican.
