Scope and Content: The Laighton Family Papers is a collection of materials related to the Laighton cousins: Albert and Oscar. The collection includes a scrapbook, correspondence, poetry, ephemera, and some photographs. Albert Laighton's scrapbook contains holograph and printed poems as well as letters to him from family members and other poets. The scrapbook has been disassembled and placed in folders. It includes letters from Thomas B. Aldrich, James T. Fields, William Dean Howells, Albert Leighton, Benjamin Penhallow Shillaber, Celia Laighton Thaxter, and John Whitten.
