Scope and Content: The Katharine E. Reichert Papers, 1917-1919, 1980-2001, include Reicher's materials related to her acquisition of White Mountain books, White Mountain ephemera, and her hiking journals. Materials related to her collection of White Mountain books are advertisements, correspondence, newspaper and magazine clippings, and receipts. Reichert also owned some White Mountain ephemera. There are also three hiking journals documenting Reichert's and her partner's (Margaret Frerichs) trips to the White Mountains. For each hike the journal's list the date, location, elevation, distance, time, maps/guides used, weather, and hiking/driving comments. The journals date from January 1980 to June 1997. The front cover of the third volume is title "Bicycling Journal" but records Reichert and Frerichs' hikes. The papers also contain George T. Linsley's accounts of trips to the Ravine Lodge in Randolph, NH, from 1917 to 1918. Linsley was an Anglican reverend from Connecticut. These accounts were located in one of Reichert's copies of the Appalachian Mountain Club White Mountain guides.
