Scope and Content: Weekly returns of the 1st N.H. Regiment of foot, commanded by Col. Joseph Cilley, Jan. 19, 1778 - Sept. 1, 1780. Shows the names of the captains of companies with the number of officers and men present and fit for duty and reasons for absence. Shows the place where the regiment was every week in 1778 and 1779, Valley Forge, various places in New Jersey, White Plains, N.Y., Reddington, Conn. and into Pennsylvania. In 1780 they were at West Point, May 18 to July 27. A few notes at Valley Forge: "100 of the above rank and file that are returned fit for duty cannot do it for want of cloaths [sic]." No entries made during Indian expedition, Aug. - Sep. 1779.
