In the letter, Murphy details her recent travels from London to Rome, then to Spain and France, and finally back to London. She goes on to state she has enclosed clippings to give Kenison an idea of what Europeans are talking about and notes she feels people take for granted that the British Empire is on its last legs. Murphy also discusses how rosy America looks these days, despite their shortcomings, as Americans still stand together, whereas Europeans do not. She ends by wishing Kenison a good 1966.
