Scope and Content: The Saltmarsh Family Papers consist of materials from Abbott, Gilman, Nehemiah, and George A. Saltmarsh from 1848 to 1883. The majority of materials are from Gilman Saltmarsh and include his financial records, namely bills, receipts, and promissory notes; lumber orders placed by Concord Railroad; and correspondence, bonds, and contracts regarding building a road in Goffstown. Other materials in this collection include summons, timber agreements, a certificate of Civil War disability, lumber orders, education papers, and family correspondence.
