Scope and Content: An orderly book kept by Thomas Russell, Aide-de-camp to General John Stark, for the brigade commanded by Stark. The book contains mostly orders from General Nathanael Greene, whose forces were located around Morristown, NJ. The book includes records of parole and countersign, officers of the day, appointments for courts martial (personnel, offences, verdicts, and sentences), an order from Washington releasing all prisoners except prisoners of war, a new dress code established by Washington, and Greene's commendation of troops for action in a skirmish at Springfield, MA. The book also contains several pages of Stark's personal financial accounts after the war. An index of names in this volume is available.
