Scope and Content: This collection consists of two scrapbooks on the Nashua Manufacturing Company of Nashua, NH. These scrapbooks contain brochures, event programs, photocopies of newspaper clippings, photographs, annual reports, notices, and broadsides dating from 1889 to 1946, with the majority of material covering 1941 to 1946, focusing on the Nashua Manufacturing Company's wartime efforts during World War II. This includes invitations to be present at the awarding of the "Minute Man Banner with the T" in 1942; U.S. War Bond advertisements; an honor roll of those employees serving in the military; awards for the Army-Navy "E" for excellence in war production in 1943, 1944, and 1945; advertisements to recruit women to fill positions vacant by those who entered the service; the company victory garden; and descriptions in their annual reports and in newspaper articles of their war production, which includes tent twills and herringbone twill for uniforms. Other materials include information on the presentation of pins for those employed with the company for fifty years, obituaries for those in the textile field, articles on mill strikes, and the sale of the company. The scrapbooks inclue informaton on their mills in Nashua, NH; Lewiston, ME; and Cordova, AL.
